Situational Awareness Guide

Build everyday awareness habits without living in fear: attention, environment, exits, boundaries, and decision-making.

Build everyday awareness habits without living in fear: attention, environment, exits, boundaries, and decision-making.

Use awareness to support decisions, not anxiety

Notice your environment, likely exits, changes around you, and situations that make you uncomfortable. The goal is earlier decision-making—not constant hypervigilance.

Plan simple options

Tell trusted people about important plans when appropriate, keep essential communications available, know how you would leave an unfamiliar situation, and use local emergency resources when necessary.

Prefer prevention over confrontation

Personal safety includes boundaries, avoidance, communication, planning and recognizing when to leave. Physical techniques are only one part of a much larger system.
